In this job you will...

  • Record and where possible, resolve customer queries using various diagnostic tools and inter-personal skills
  • Record, and where possible, fulfil service requests
  • Own and progress incidents and requests with other Technology teams, on the customer’s behalf
  • Manage high impact incidents affecting the technology systems and environments
  • Provide the highest levels of customer support and satisfaction in-line with News UK’s policy and procedures
  • Delivery of high quality technical support for the business and the customer, whilst delivering exceptional customer satisfaction and a personalised service

Your training will...

Start with a 12-14 month IT apprenticeship, which consists of training in small groups and work based assessment covering: Operating systems, Server administration, Customer support, Networking and Security.

You will gain City & Guilds Level 3 qualifications in IT Systems & Principles and IT Professional Competence, as well as Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) qualifications leading to the Microsoft Certified Professional certification. This fantastic opportunity can potentially lead to you earning £30k in the IT sector.

Who should apply...

  • Someone with an excellent telephone manner is required together with the ability to handle challenging support situations with a calm and methodical approach.
  • Someone with problem-solving and technical skills using various diagnostic tools
  • Someone with excellent inter-personal skills
  • Someone with ideally 5 GCSE Grades (C and above) or equivalent, including Maths and English
