To drive economic growth by facilitating effective partnership working between schools, training providers and businesses in order to develop the knowledge, aspirations and employability skills of young people.
Both Opportunity Peterborough and the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership (LEP) understand the importance of an appropriately skilled workforce to support local economic development. The Skills Service, now funded by the LEP, was created to drive forward the area's skills agenda by listening to business needs and collaborating with local education providers to upskill the future workforce.
The Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has prioritised Skills from the very beginning with a single ambition: for local business needs to drive skills supply at a local level.
We work with businesses, education and training providers in Peterborough, Rutland, Fenland, King's Lynn and West Norfolk.
The Skills Service is delivered by Opportunity Peterborough and incorporates the former Peterborough Skills Service team.
New positions were recruited to drive the project forward and expand into the wider area.
