Celebrating International Women's Day
At The Skills Service, we are celebrating the women who have worked with us over the years.
Rhian Lawton of Costain, is an experienced employment and skills practitioner, who is always looking at ways to promote careers and opportunities in construction / civil engineering.
Working on the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme, the largest Highways England project at the time, Rhian worked as an Employment & Skills Co-ordinator as part of a team of people and community professionals, following the CITB NSAfC framework of activities allowing them to promote the sector to a whole range of people and ensure a pipeline of talent.
Through Rhian, the A14 project was able to support The Skills Service's work in schools by attending over 40 school events and reaching in excess of 67,700 students. Creating not only a huge interest in the sector with secondary school students but a legacy that will be remembered for a very long time.
