Year 13 students at Arthur Mellows Village College were given valuable experience and confidence by sitting a staged work interview conducted by local employers. Before the day the students had put together their CV’s which were given to each employer to read through so they could be questioned on the content.
Dressed up in suits and business attire the students were given interview time slots which they had to be punctual for. They would then meet and be interviewed by a business employer on a generic job role. After the interview feedback was given. This session also had a second interview for the students and this time it was tailored to their own personal industry interests, such as RAF, Banking or healthcare.
The morning was a great success and is a superb way for the students to gain the necessary tools to hopefully secure a position that suits them after leaving school.
Nikki from the NHS said “It was a pleasure to meet such focused and polite students, they are a credit to AMVC”
Katie Strange, owner of Katie Strange Recruitment said “The Skills Service, along with AMVC, have provided a fantastic workshop for the year 13 students. It allows them to explore career options and provides them with the necessary tools to successfully secure work once they leave education. It’s an invaluable experience for the students”
A huge thank you to the volunteers from RAF, Barclays, Roythornes, Katie Strange Recruitment, NHS, Wilson and Co Homes and Skanska for the time and help.
