Year 10 students at Cromwell Community College in Chatteris attended this hard-hitting Internet Safety event to raise awareness of the need to keep themselves safe online.
The interactive session was delivered by the Fenland District Council’s Community Safety Partnership and aimed to ensure that students think about their social media presence and their online activities in a more informed and objective manner. Shocking statistics and videos helped to reinforce the message.
Jo Roberts, Child Protection Officer at Cromwell Community College, said “This was an interesting and informative presentation which outlined all the relevant information on how to keep yourself safe on the internet.”
Students were also made aware of the ways they can prevent and report inappropriate contact online, allowing them to continue using the range of social networks with confidence.
