Groups of talented youngsters of mixed age groups at Ken Stimpson Community School in Peterborough were given a budget to create an event of their choice. This involved all aspects of putting an event together, from logistics and operational issues to creating innovative sales and marketing initiatives and pitching their ideas to a panel of experts.
6 teams of 5 worked together with 2 from Year 8, 2 from Year 10 and 1 post 16 student. Judges were from the Peterborough Telegraph, the organiser of the Willow Festival, CBA and Young Marmalade.
The idea for a Best of British Food and Drink Festival impressed judges the most and the winning team spent an interactive day at Huntingdon racecourse as guests of the Jockey Club.
