We hosted a careers fair at King Edward VII Academy on 21st May, which was attended by over 200 students and their parents. There were over 30 exhibitors including Adrian Flux, Bespak, Russen & Turner, NHS, R G Carter Construction and McDonalds. Running alongside the careers fair was a CV surgery where HR and recruitment professionals gave valuable advice on CV writing and interviews.
Feedback was extremely positive, including the following comments from exhibitors:
“The Skills Service is doing an excellent job at promoting different career paths to students. This event will have opened the eyes of many students and will ultimately be a key part in their decision making in the future.” Nathan Marshall, UCFB
“As a current apprentice myself, it is events like these that help you see what local opportunities are available for you. It’s great to participate and offer advice to others.” Lauren Nurse, Bespak
