Thomas Clarkson Academy held an inspirational Careers Fair for their students in years 8 to 13. The fair was attended by over 30 local businesses and further education providers offering advice and knowledge on future opportunities. There were also interactive exhibits ranging from ping pong games and careers-related quizzes with prizes from Tesco to a dress up photo booth and face glitter make up demonstration, which was loved by the students – and also quite a few of the teachers!
The event ran for the entire school day with year groups visiting in allotted time slots to look around and speak to the exhibitors. The day was a success for both students and businesses alike.
Neil from local business Metalcraft based in Chatteris, found the event hugely positive. “This is an A1 opportunity for us to meet and engage with students. Getting to talk to them about our apprenticeships and what we are able to offer is why we come to these events.”
Francis from Stamford based ESPA Dance said that this event was not only a great chance for the students but also for themselves. “Not only are the students gaining valuable information, we as a local business are also learning a great deal from today.”
