We held a Careers Fair for all year groups at The King’s School in Peterborough, which was also attended by students from St John Fisher School. The event was very busy, with over 1200 students attending to find out more about their future career options.
A wide range of universities and training providers attended, along with a great selection of local employers including Anglian Water, Atkins, AB Agri, Caterpillar, NHS, Moore Stephens, Natwest, Marriot, RG Carter and Hunt & Coombs LLP.
Olivia Chalmers from Hunt & Coombs LLP said afterwards: “This type of event is so important for young people. The chance to meet professionals from the industries which interest the students is an invaluable addition to classroom based careers advice. It’s a fantastic opportunity to ask that question you’ve always wanted to know the answer to!”
Victoria Logie from 3aaa commented that: “The pupils at King’s School were very enthused about investigating and discussing possible careers. I had a fantastic time, feeling welcomed and answering lots of questions posed by the pupils.”
Stephanie Copsey of the University of East Anglia said: “The Skills Service organised a brilliant and professional event that enabled us a university to speak to a huge range of students about their future options.”
