Groups of Year 9 and 10 students at Thomas Deacon Academy in Peterborough were tasked with designing a product, marketing it and pitching it to both their peers and a business panel. This ‘Build a Business’ enterprise challenge aimed to encourage enterprise and entrepreneurship, developing key skills such as team building, problem solving, financial awareness, communication and presentation skills.
Jordan Clarke, a Salesman for Bauer Media, was part of the panel that helped to encourage the students. He commented afterwards that it was “an invaluable day of learning, fun and development for all. It was a pleasure to be part of and I can see why The Skills Service has won awards. I would thoroughly recommend and look forward to getting involved again.”
