Thomas Clarksons Employability & Enterprise Week continued yesterday with Year 7 students (aged 11 to 12) taking part in our Ducks Enterprise Activity.
In order to help establish links between businesses and the students and to encourage a ‘real world’ feel to the proceeds, we were supported by a team of 2 ‘buyers’ from Wates Construction.
The students took part in a simulated business environment where each of them was given a job role and task in order to help their team achieve a profit and win prizes.
Yesterdays activity saw them making variations of ducks to impress the buyers such as; Valentines Ducks, Wisbech Ducks and Families of Ducks in a fast paced and energetic session!
Everybody had an enjoyable morning and the students really got involved, with the winning team making a huge profit of over £2000 from an initial £150 startup loan!
The week continues today with another group of Year 7 Students taking part in the activity, assisted by more business volunteers.
Finally, we would like to say a big thank you to Aimee & Emma from Wates for taking part today and look forward to working with them again!
